We’re Here Before Surgery, Too

One of the most important things we want women to know is that you don't have to wait until after surgery to visit Silhouette Shoppe.

Once your surgery has been scheduled, call us.

Women undergoing both lumpectomy and mastectomy may need a properly fitted post-surgical garment. For mastectomy patients, options include garments designed to accommodate drain management; for lumpectomy patients, post-surgical compression and support may be recommended. We'll talk through your upcoming surgery and help you understand the options available to you.

Your surgeon's instructions should always guide your medical care, but we'll help make sure you're prepared with the garments and support you need.

Support for Every Stage of Your Recovery

Every woman's recovery is different. There isn't one timeline or one "right" way to move through this experience. Silhouette Shoppe can help throughout your journey.

Immediately After Surgery

We offer post-surgical bras, camisoles, front-closure garments and drain-management options designed for comfort during early recovery.

As You Begin to Heal

As swelling and tenderness change, we can help you transition into soft, non-wired recovery bras that provide comfortable support while your body continues healing.

When You're Ready for a Breast Form or Prosthetic

Once you're healed and your surgeon has cleared you, we can professionally fit you for breast forms or prosthetics and pocketed mastectomy bras.

Most women come for their first fitting approximately 4–8 weeks after surgery, but every situation is different. Your healing, not the calendar, determines when you're ready.

Long-Term Support

Our care doesn't stop after your first fitting.

Bodies change. Weight changes. Your preferences may change. Your prosthetic may eventually need to be replaced. You may want a swimsuit, sports bra or something for a special occasion.

Whether your surgery was two months ago or twenty years ago, we want you to know you can come to us.

Breast Prosthetics & Breast Forms

There isn't one breast form that's right for every woman.

That's why we don't expect you to walk in knowing what you need.

We'll explain your options, let you see and feel them, and professionally fit you based on your body, surgery and comfort.

Options include:

  • Lightweight foam breast forms for early recovery or women who want a very lightweight option

  • Partial breast forms for women who have had a lumpectomy or experience asymmetry following reconstruction

  • Silicone breast prosthetics designed for long-term wear and fitted specifically to your body

  • Swim-specific breast forms for use in the water

Silicone forms can closely replicate the weight and movement of natural breast tissue, while partial forms can restore symmetry after lumpectomy or uneven reconstruction.

And importantly:

You don't have to wear a prosthetic.

We'll educate you about what's available. You decide what feels right for you.

A mastectomy bra doesn't have to look medical.

Pocketed mastectomy bras are designed to securely hold a breast prosthetic while providing comfortable support. Silhouette Shoppe carries options ranging from everyday T-shirt bras and wire-free styles to sports bras and special-occasion options.

We can help with:

  • Pocketed mastectomy bras

  • Post-surgical bras

  • Compression garments

  • Sports bras

  • Wire-free bras

  • Sleep bras

  • Special-occasion bras

  • Mastectomy swimwear

  • Breast forms & prosthetics

  • Partial breast forms following lumpectomy

The goal isn't simply to find something that works.

It's to find something that feels like you.

Mastectomy Bras That Look Like Bras

We understand that walking into a fitting after breast surgery can feel intimidating.

That's why our post-lumpectomy and post-mastectomy appointments are designed to be private, personal and unhurried.

You'll meet privately with your fitter and talk about your surgery, concerns and goals. We'll explain your options, help you try different products and give you privacy whenever you need it.

There is no pressure to make a particular choice.

Your body. Your comfort. Your timeline.

Appointments typically take approximately 45–60 minutes, and you're welcome to bring your spouse, partner, friend, sister, daughter or anyone else who makes you feel more comfortable.

Private consultations are available Tuesdays and Thursdays by appointment. The current website also identifies these as free fittings.

Your Private Fitting Appointment

We help with Insurance, too.

Patients shouldn't have to become insurance experts while they're recovering.

Silhouette Shoppe can help verify benefits, submit insurance claims, follow up on EOBs and assist with appeals when necessary.

Most insurance plans, including Medicare, provide coverage for eligible post-lumpectomy and post-mastectomy products, although exact coverage and out-of-pocket costs depend on the individual's plan.

We help with the paperwork so you can focus on yourself.

Bring your insurance cards and photo ID to your appointment. Silhouette Shoppe can also work with your doctor's office regarding the necessary prescription.
